The Secret World

In case you’ve missed it, FunCom’s new MMO, The Secret World, has officially launched.  The game has flown under the radar a bit, but I’ve really been looking forward to it, as it’s FunCom’s attempt at producing an MMO that isn’t another copy of World of Warcraft.  (And it’s not based around high-fantasy — mega-yay!)

I’ve been downloading the 14.4GB client for a few hours now, so I obviously haven’t played it yet, but I’ve read many good things about it.  From the feedback I’ve seen, it seems like FunCom pulled off something special here, and even though I’m really hoping that’s the case, I’m trying to keep my expectations low.  (I’ve been burned too many times before on MMOs to be much of a “glass half full” kind of guy.)

I hope to share some initial thoughts on the game pretty soon, so stay tuned.
