Bob Geldof Clearly Never Had A Wii

Why? Because with the Virtual Console in full effect, there’s definitely a reason to like Mondays.

Case in point? Yesterday’s VC update, which made the following titles available for download: Bonanza Bros. (Gen), Comix Zone (Gen), Contra III: The Alien Wars (SNES) and Mario Kart 64 (N64). That’s a pretty serious update, and at this rate, the Wii is simply going to be a wondrous box of retro-gaming goodness by the end of the year.

Now if only they’d just back off the prices a lil’ bit. (Which, of course, will never happen; gamers have been buying these downloads like crazy.)

Man.. I wish I could get excited about this. But I just can’t! I already have all these games (plus about 2000 that will never be released on VC because of licencing issues) ready to play on my PC. Sure it’s technically illegal, but how many of you have burned copies of a friends music cd? Ran a pirated version of Windows? Downloaded from Napster (before it was legal)?

I think for the sake of ease though I may download some VC games at some point. But they are still too expensive. Especially when a lot of times you can get the actual games for cheaper in the used bin at Rhino games. I’m not knocking VC though, it is a fantastic thing to have for people that have no access to these games otherwise.

Speaking of the Wii. When the hell is Super Mario Galaxy coming out? And when are you going to review Twilight Princess Joey? I made it to Hyrule Castle. Should have it beat any day now…

“And when are you going to review Twilight Princess Joey?”

It’s a funny thing, but just like with every other Zelda game that I’ve played since A Link to the Past, I got a good ways into Twilight Princess and just stopped booting it up. It’s not that I don’t like the game or anything, but I just go through these phases where I’m not inclined to jump back into it.

It’s an odd thing and I wish I could explain it better, but I just can’t. (It’ll probably take me forever to actually finish this thing.)
